Short Bio of Speaker
In the early 1990’s interest rates in Australia were at an all time high and as a result David Wright was forced to re-think how he was approaching his family’s budget. The more he looked at the traditional method he and most other people normally used to calculate their budget, the more he realised it left a lot to be desired and so he set about developing a more useful method.
David’s efforts led him to create a system that he realised would be the key for thousands of families like his to make the change from enduring financial frustration and heartache to achieving a much more satisfying and successful financial journey.
He enthusiastically began a journey that took him from running an after-hours, in-home budgeting service through to being the full-time owner/operator of a successful online budgeting resource centre.
David named his system Simply Budgets. He is now one of Australia’s leading Personal Budgeting specialists. His story, advice, observations and the Simply Budgets system have been featured in magazines and newspapers such as The Courier Mail, The Daily Telegraph, The Financial Review, PC Authority, The Sunday Mail, Money Magazine, Independent Financial Advisor and various other publications.
David has appeared on Australian Television on Channel Nine’s “A Current Affair” and “Brisbane Extra” and Channel Seven’s “Today Tonight”. He has been interviewed on radio in Australia on stations such as 4BC, 4EB, 3AK, 5DN, 6PR and the ABC.
More recently, in the USA he has given radio interviews on shows such as Business of Success and Wall Street in the Morning and a television interview with Dr Letitia Wright on “The Wright Place”.
David has addressed audiences at seminars and expos and has lectured on Taking Financial Control at ‘Cashflow Clinics’ in various locations around Australia, New Zealand and the USA. He travels widely teaching the Simply Budgets system with the goal of helping people take control of their finances and to grow wealth for their future.
The Simply Budgets software program has sold over 22,000 copies including orders from countries such as UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Chile, Denmark, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and New Guinea to mention a few.
David writes articles and newsletters that go out to a subscription database of over 30,000 people.
