Short Bio of Speaker
Susan Welch's work with Laughter therapy has seen her present to over 30,000 people in 5 years in the corporate, government, education, mental health and health areas, and not only uplift and heal herself, but also motivate many others to do so for themselves. She has been covered by many major newspapers and radio stations, not only in Australia, but in the USA and Japan also.
Susan knows that when Laughter Therapy is combined with her other personal and professional development tool, Authentic Happiness Coaching in the New Positive Psychology, the result is an even more powerful social science and behavioural empowerment technology that gives people positive holistic skills, build resilience, improve self and workplace esteem and build a healthier and happier community and networks.
During her training in 2003 with the legendary founder of Positive Psychology Professor Martin Seligman USA Phd, Susan was asked by the a major Brisbane hospital to coach a section of their staff to see if workplaces could get markedly happier and stay that way. Susan tailored a program that included a
" before and after" survey to measure the shift in paradigms of workplace attitude, lightheartedness, altruism, respect and mindfulness.
Eighty percent of the staff reported they were personally happier after the program, and there were marked positive shifts in workplace professional paradigms. Most importantly, these shifts were still in evidence in a post program survey six months later.
Susan's advanced programs are the culmination of how we can become authentically happy not only from a set of mental empowerment tools but also with the latest nutritional knowledge on how what we eat affects our moods, health and energy levels. Positive Psychology combined with an exercise and goal program and wholistic eating is a very effective life changer.
Her powerful programs get results - happier individuals, happier workplaces, happier networks, happier society. Please note her extensive list of happy clients below the testimonials.

Level of Sophistication: General/Basic/Intermediate/Advanced
Duration of Talk (Excluding Breaks):
- 1 hour
- 2-4 hours
- Inhouse coaching, one hour session per week over 6-8 weeks
Synopsis of Presentation: Participants learn how and why Positive Psychology developed and how it is the "New Psychology", a holistically focused empowering intervention that asks "What's right with you" rather than "What's wrong?" It teaches us how to lift our baselines of happiness to enduring levels, buffer against depression with fear busting techniques, and break old patterns of thinking, feeling and inaction.
Happiness Coaching in Positive Psychology aims to enliven us with dozens of tools that can really point us to our potential, away from our perceived "story". It helps us recognise and change limiting beliefs that keep us from getting into our purpose and passions. Participants learn how the brain works in basic terms, and how we can become the director of our thinking, not the audience, for greater achievement and life satisfaction.
Who Should Attend: This is for people, and workplaces that want to be authentically happy, not just "happy enough". Participants learn how to raise their baselines of happiness to enduring levels, these are not "quick fix techniques".
How you will benefit:
- Learn techniques to bust fear, and build resilience.
- Learn your Signature Strengths and how to employ them
- Discover hidden rackets that thwart potential - filters, labels, tapes and payoffs.
- Discover where you true power lies, or has gone, and how to get it back.
- Notice and change unmotivated and outdated unhappy workplace paradigms
- Raise your energy within, and raise the energy without.
- Learn the difference between constructive and destructive language
- Learn how personal change effects professional change.

“The feedback has been fantastic! Susan’s work and information are very valuable. The attendees loved the laughter therapy and positive psychology equally. We are all up against a lot of ingrained negativity every day and the stuff she provides in her sessions needs to be reinforced regularly.”
